Hmm ... sounds like you may have downloaded the WordPress version of the theme instead of the Tumblr one. Did you download the last theme on the bottom of the page? If you can't figure it out, feel free to shoot me an email at maguay at live.com (just change the at to an @ symbol). Hope you get it working!

I took the original WordPress theme and stripped it to line one and started from scratch. Of course, the Elegant Themes Tumblr version debuted a couple days before mine, but I think I did it proud.

My thoughts exactly. I love WordPress, and it's great for all kinds of sites ranging from blogs to full-blown websites, but Tumblr really seems to nail the simple blogging experience and let people focus on what they're writing about. I've really enjoyed working with it, and have written quite a number of Tumblr tutorials on HowtoGeek.com (which I need to link up over here).

Plus, this theme has many uses for small, nitch sites, maybe similar to http://dribbble.com/'s post styles. http://asolidbase.net/ is doing a great job in a similar way for wallpapers, and that would work great with a theme like this. That's what I'm wanting to explore with Tumblr and this theme; stay tuned for an upcoming new Tumblr blog .

I really liked this theme release. I thought Daily Notes was one of Nicks best additions to the gallery. It is sooo clean and elegant. I will be using it for my mom's silk painting blog shortly as I think the custom post types will help her a lot.

As a WordPress theme developer I have always been a WordPress fan and not so much a 'mico-blogging" fan. However, for simple bloggers Tumblr is pretty awesome. I have used them in the past to build up some links for a site as Tumblr is also a good way to create somewhat of a "feed" for your main site.

Anyway, I think it is cool that Nick is expanding to accommodate users with multiple needs.

ps: just so you know you may want to change the footer link in your theme to your affiliate ID as opposed to just going to Elegant Themes. (feel free to erase this if you accept my comment)
