I hadn't looked at http://www.pdfescape.com in a while, and they do seem to have a LOT of features! The only problem is, it seems to have a max upload size of 2Mb, and the PDFs that I needed to rearrange the pages in were 3-5Mb because of images. Still, though, it definitely is more advanced than PDF Hammer. Thanks for the advice!

I love all their tools, but PDF Hammer is kinda functionally limited.

I'd give http://www.pdfescape.com a try. As a PDF editor, it isn't as powerful as Nitro PDF Professional, but better than PDF Hammer, and free.

Thanks for your input, and the comparison of features to Adobe Acrobat. I have only ever used Acrobat Reader (now called Adobe Reader), so Nitro PDF's tools are the first professional PDF tools I have used aside from the "Save as PDF" feature in Office 2007. I have been blessed with a copy of Nitro PDF 6 after writing this review (I will be reviewing it soon), and I find it hard to believe that I used to live without it. I have to deal with scanned documents and forms so much with college, and Nitro PDF has been such a help. But I'd better save the rest for the review!
I just discovered that you can get Nitro PDF pro for $69 right now at http://www.nitropdf.com/store/nitro_pdf_professional_ppemail09.htm. I found the sell at www.pdfhammer.com; if you open the PDF Hammer tool, it has an ad at the bottom right corner that shows this special price. It says the special price only lasts through the end of July, though. Hope you find this helpful!

I work in an office environment and have used Adobe for years, however, in version three, you used to be able to create files, add to and subtract from them and create PDF forms from scanned documents (well, those are the items I used most in my job). In more recent versions, you can only do all of that if you buy more expensive versions, and so most employees didn't get more than the basic version when we upgraded (we have 1000+ employees). I also found those features useful for home use as I have school-aged children, who bring home lots of forms to fill out (if I can limit the number of times I have to fill them out, it is all the better for me).
In searching for a PDF maker, I found Primo PDF, tried it and loved it, so I began to check out all of the products Nitro PDF had. Personally, I HATE downloading time limited software, but I needed to combine some files, and I wasn't going to email them to myself at work, so I decided to try the time trial Nitro PDF. What a fantastic program! I loved it! And because it is only $99, it is a much better buy than Adobe Acrobat, which I had considered buying for myself at home. I will also say that my trial lasted longer than it should have (thank you Nitro), and if you check out their site, you will find that from time to time they offer Nitro PDF Professional for less than the already reasonable price. At one point, just before version 6 was released, they offered it for $49 (I unfortunately didn't take advantage of that offer, but the next time it comes around, I will). You should try the time trial, but I'm sure you'll like the product.
